Selection Guide

How to Select a Jet Mill

Selection should not be based only on equipment name or price. Material, particle size, capacity, contamination, safety, and testing results all matter.

Five Selection Factors

Material Properties

Hardness, heat sensitivity, moisture, stickiness, agglomeration, and oxidation risk affect selection.

Particle Size Target

Clarify D50, D90, D97, or residue targets instead of only asking for finer powder.

Capacity

Lab, pilot, and production needs require different models and system scope.

Contamination Control

High-purity, battery, and ceramic powders may require ceramic lining or selected contact materials.

Safety Requirements

Flammable, explosive, oxidation-sensitive, or metal powders may require inert gas protection.

Testing Verification

New materials should be tested before final production model selection.

Start with material details

If the right jet mill type is not clear, provide material name, feed size, target size, capacity, and safety requirements first.
